Self-Hosting PlexMCP

PlexMCP is open source and can be self-hosted on your own infrastructure. This gives you complete control over your data and deployment.

Quick Start

Get PlexMCP running in under 5 minutes:

# Clone the repository
git clone https://github.com/PlexMCP/plexmcp.git
cd plexmcp

# Run the setup script
./scripts/setup.sh

# Start all services
docker compose up -d

# Open in browser
open http://localhost:3000

Deployment Options

Best for: Small to medium deployments, single-server setups.

  • Includes PostgreSQL, Redis, API, and Web frontend
  • Easy to set up and maintain
  • Suitable for most self-hosting scenarios

PlexMCP is licensed under FSL-1.1-Apache-2.0.

  • Free for: Individuals, businesses under $1M revenue, self-hosting
  • Commercial license required for: Businesses with $1M+ revenue
  • Converts to Apache 2.0: January 2031
